ZIWI Peak Dog Food Review: Pros and Cons from Real Dog Owners.
So, I’ve been trying out this dog food called Ziwi Peak for my furry friend, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the journey. I heard about it from a friend who wouldn’t stop talking about how great it is. Figured I’d give it a shot, right?
First off, I ordered a small bag online, just to test the waters. I didn’t want to commit to a big bag in case my dog turned his nose up at it. When the package arrived, I opened it up and took a whiff.
What did it look and smell like?
Honestly, it smelled pretty meaty, not like regular kibble. It looked different, too. More like jerky than those little brown pellets. I was actually kind of impressed. I read somewhere that it’s air-dried, which apparently keeps all the good stuff in. They also say it has a lot of meat and organs, which sounds good for a dog, you know? It’s also grain-free, which my vet recommended for my pup.
I followed the instructions and gave my dog a small amount to start with. At first, he just sniffed at it cautiously. Then, he took a tentative bite… and then he gobbled it down! I was shocked, usually, he’s a picky eater.
What did I observe after a few days?
Over the next few days, I kept feeding him the Ziwi Peak, gradually increasing the amount. And you know what? I started to notice some changes.
- His coat became noticeably shinier.
- He seemed more energetic during our walks.
- Even his, um, “business” looked healthier, if you know what I mean.
I also read that this food has 33% protein and 23% fat. High in those areas and that’s always a good thing.
I guess those folks at Ziwi Peak know what they’re doing. They talk a big game about ethical ingredients and species-appropriate diets. Guess it’s not just marketing talk. I continued to feed it to my dog, and he’s been loving it ever since.
All in all, I’m really happy I made the switch. It’s a bit pricier than regular dog food, but seeing my dog so healthy and happy makes it worth it. If you’re thinking about trying a new dog food, I’d say give Ziwi Peak a shot. You might be surprised!
