Toilet Paper Dog Toy: Is It Safe for Your Pup?

Hey everyone, it’s your boy back at it again! Today, I’m gonna show you how I made a super simple, super cheap dog toy using stuff I just found around the house. You know, we all love our furry friends, but dog toys can get pricey, right? So I thought, why not get a little crafty and see what I could come up with.

Toilet Paper Dog Toy: Is It Safe for Your Pup?

Here’s what I did. I grabbed an old toilet paper roll – yep, the cardboard tube that’s left after you finish the toilet paper. It’s something we all have and usually just toss in the trash. Also, I took some old tissue paper.

First, I took the toilet paper roll. Nothing much to do here since it’s already in the shape we need. But then I thought, my dog loves to chew and tear stuff up, so I should make it a bit more interesting. I grabbed some dog treats – the small, bite-sized kind. I stuffed a few of those treats inside the toilet paper roll. My thinking was, this would give my dog a little challenge and reward him when he finally gets them out.

  • Grab a toilet paper roll.
  • Stuff some dog treats inside.
  • Fold the ends of the roll.

Next, I folded the ends of the roll inwards to close them up. This was a bit tricky because you want to make sure the treats don’t fall out too easily, but you also don’t want it to be impossible for your dog to open. I just folded them over a couple of times, and that seemed to do the trick.

And that’s it! I handed the homemade toy over to my dog, and he went nuts for it! He spent a good chunk of time trying to get those treats out, and you could tell he was having a blast. He chewed on the roll, tossed it around, and eventually managed to get it open.

Result

This little experiment showed me that you don’t need to spend a lot of money to keep your dog entertained. Sometimes, the simplest things can be the most fun. Plus, it’s a great way to reuse something that would otherwise just be thrown away. I’d say this was a win-win situation. My dog got a new toy, and I got to feel good about being resourceful. So next time you finish a roll of toilet paper, don’t throw away that cardboard tube – turn it into a fun toy for your furry friend!
