Havanese Dog Price Guide: How Much Does a Havanese Puppy Cost?

Okay, so, I’ve been thinking about getting a dog for a while now, and I finally decided to take the plunge. I did some research on different breeds, and the Havanese really caught my eye. They’re small, cute, and supposed to be great with families. But, man, figuring out the price of these little guys was a whole adventure in itself.

Havanese Dog Price Guide: How Much Does a Havanese Puppy Cost?

First, I started by looking online, you know, just general searches about Havanese puppies and breeders. I found that the prices were all over the place! Some places were listing them for around $700, which seemed pretty reasonable. But then others were asking for $1,500, and I even saw a few that were $2,500 or more! I was a little shocked, to be honest. I mean, that’s a big difference. I started feeling overwhelmed, so I went to take a breath first.

Digging Deeper

After that, I decided to get more specific. I started looking up breeders in my area and contacting them directly. I figured, who better to ask about prices than the people actually selling the puppies, right? I sent out a bunch of emails and made a few phone calls. It took some time to sort through the replies. I was really confused by the different prices.

Most of the breeders quoted me prices between $1,000 and $1,800. Some of them explained that the price depended on things like the puppy’s bloodline, whether it was “show quality,” and if it had any special markings. One breeder told me that their puppies were more expensive because they came from champion lines. Also, I learned that these dogs need regular vet check-ups because they are prone to some health problems.

Other Costs

But, of course, it’s not just the initial price of the puppy that you have to worry about. There are other costs too! I started thinking about things like food, toys, a bed, a crate, and all that stuff. And then there are vet bills, grooming, and training. It all adds up pretty quickly. I even filled out a purchase application and got a reply that one puppy cost $3,500 without shipping fee.

So, after all this research, I’m still not 100% sure what I’m going to do. I really want a Havanese, but I need to make sure I can afford it. It’s a big commitment, and I want to be responsible. I might need to save up a bit more before I take the plunge. Or maybe I’ll look into adopting an older Havanese from a rescue. That could be a more affordable option, and it would be great to give a dog in need a loving home.

Anyway, that’s my Havanese puppy price adventure so far. It’s been a learning experience, that’s for sure! I hope my sharing can help someone who is going to buy a havanese puppy avoid being cheated. If I decide to move forward with buying a puppy, I will share my further experience then.
