Dog toy cat: how to pick one that your pets will love

Okay, so, I tried to make a toy for my dog, right? But it ended up being more like a cat toy. I know, I know, sounds weird, but stick with me here.

Dog toy cat: how to pick one that your pets will love

First, I gathered all this stuff from around the house – some old t-shirts, a few tennis balls, and some rope. I was all excited, thinking I was gonna make the best darn dog toy ever. My dog, he’s a big guy, loves to chew, so I wanted something tough, you know?

Making Process

  • I started by cutting the t-shirts into strips. No biggie, just like making a rag rug, which I’ve done a couple of times.
  • Then, I took those strips and started braiding them. This took a while, my fingers got tired, but I kept going. I was determined.
  • Next, I wrapped a tennis ball in some fabric and tied it off with more strips. I did this a few times, making what looked like little fabric-covered balls.
  • Here’s where it went a bit sideways. I tried to attach these balls to the braided rope, thinking my dog could play tug-of-war with it. But the balls were too small, and the whole thing ended up being pretty light.

When I gave it to my dog, he just looked at it, sniffed it, and walked away. Total fail, right? But then, my cat, she comes over, starts batting at the balls, chasing the rope. She loved it! I watched her play with it, and you know what? Some cats like soft toys, and others like hard ones that roll around, I guess it is similar to my cat, she just likes this kind of toy.

So, yeah, I made a cat toy, not a dog toy. But hey, at least someone’s enjoying it. Plus, I learned something. My cat likes playing fetch and tug-of-war just like a dog and it is said that energetic pets will benefit from toys that encourage physical activity. And I found out it’s not as easy to make a dog toy as it looks! Next time, I think I’ll just buy one from the store. Oh, and by the way, if you want to order online, there are stores that offer free delivery for over $49, or you can pick it up in-store. But honestly, just go to a local pet store; they might give you some good advice, too.

Anyway, that’s my story. Hope you got a laugh out of it. Don’t judge my crafting skills, okay?
