Cool Gay Dog Names! Check Out These Unique Ideas!
Okay, so the other day, I got this crazy idea. I’ve been thinking about getting a dog, and I wanted to come up with a name that’s a little bit, you know, out there. Not your usual “Buddy” or “Max.” I wanted something that screams “fabulous” because, well, why not? So I thought, “Why not explore some gay dog names?”
I started by just thinking about all the fabulous people I know and love, especially those in the LGBTQ+ community. I scribbled down some names that popped into my head. Some were inspired by famous icons, and others were just names that felt right.
Brainstorming and Googling
After my initial brainstorm, I jumped online. I hit up Google with searches like “unique dog names” and “LGBTQ+ inspired names.” Let me tell you, the internet is a goldmine for this stuff. I found a ton of lists and articles, some were okay but other were full of useful names and ideas.
I started jotting down names that caught my eye, names like “Elton,” “Mercury,” and “Gaga.” But then I also found some cool, less obvious ones. I saw suggestions like “Rainbow,” “Pride,” and even “Sashay.”
Narrowing Down the List
With a huge list in front of me, I began the hard part: narrowing it down. I read each name out loud, imagining myself calling it out in the park. Some names just didn’t roll off the tongue, while others felt perfect. Also some names are not proper to call out in public. So I began to cross out.
I also thought about the kind of dog I might get. A big, proud dog could totally rock a name like “Thor” or “Xena.” But if I end up with a little, sassy pup, a name like “Diva” or “Fabio” would be hilarious.
Getting Feedback
I didn’t want to make this decision alone, so I started running the names by my friends, especially those in the LGBTQ+ community. Their reactions were priceless, and they gave me even more ideas. I really got useful feedback from my friends.
Some of them laughed, some of them loved the idea, and a few suggested names I hadn’t even thought of. This made the list even longer, but in a good way. And I like to chat with my friends about the names.
The Final List
After all the brainstorming, Googling, and chatting with friends, I finally have a list of names that I adore. Here are some of my favorites:
- Harvey – After Harvey Milk, of course.
- Ru – Short and sweet, inspired by RuPaul.
- Kueer – It is a good name from my friend.
- Phoenix – For the mythical bird that rises from the ashes.
- Troye – Inspired by Troye Sivan.
- Madonna – I think it is the best name for female dog.
I’m still not 100% sure which name I’ll ultimately pick, but I’m having so much fun with the process. It’s been a great way to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and get excited about the possibility of adding a new, fabulous member to my family. Now I only need to buy a dog and give it a cool name. I will tell my friends I have already got a dog named Ru.
