Okay, so let's talk about Authority dog food. My journey with this brand wasn't planned, really. My old dog, Max, he's getting on a bit, and he started getting kinda picky with his regular food. Plus, his coat wasn't looking its best. I felt like maybe we needed a switch.

I was wandering through PetSmart, just looking at the options. There are so many, you know? It’s overwhelming. I saw the Authority bags, hadn't really paid them much attention before. The packaging looked decent, not too flashy. I picked up a bag, started reading the ingredients list on the back. Seemed alright, didn't see a ton of filler junk right at the top, which was a good sign for me. The price point wasn't crazy high either, kind of in the middle, which fit my budget.

Trying It Out

So, I decided to grab a smaller bag first. Didn't want to commit to a giant one if Max turned his nose up at it. I think I picked up the Adult formula, maybe the chicken and rice one? What I Noticed Over Time

We finished the small bag and Max was fully on Authority by then. I decided to stick with it for a bit longer to really see. Here’s what I observed over the next month or two:

• Interest in food: He definitely seemed more interested at meal times again. He wasn't leaving food in his bowl like before. That pickiness seemed to fade, which was great.
• Coat: This was a big one for me. His coat started looking shinier, maybe a bit thicker? It wasn't a miracle overnight change, but after several weeks, I could tell the difference. Less flaky skin too.
• Energy: Hard to say definitively because he's an older guy, but he seemed to have decent energy levels. No weird lethargy or anything like that.

It works for him, it works for my wallet, and he seems happy and healthy. Every dog is different, of course. What worked for Max might not work for another dog.
