Unbiased Northwest Naturals Dog Food Reviews: The Good, the Bad, and the Tasty!

Okay, so I've been meaning to switch up my dog's food for a while now. He's been getting kinda picky, and honestly, I wanted to try something a little more... natural. I kept seeing stuff about Northwest Naturals, so I figured, why not give it a shot? Here's how it went down.

The Hunt for Information

First, I hit up the internet, you know, like you do. I typed in "Northwest Naturals dog food reviews" and started reading. I checked out a few different websites, some forums, and even some of those pet store review pages. I wanted to get a good feel for what other dog owners were saying – the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Making the Choice

After I felt like I had a decent amount of info, I looked at the different types of food Northwest Naturals had. They've got freeze-dried, raw, all that stuff. I decided to go with the freeze-dried nuggets because they seemed like the easiest to deal with. No thawing or anything, just add water. Seemed simple enough, even for me.

The First Taste Test

So, I ordered a bag, the chicken recipe. When it arrived, I opened it up and followed the instructions. It was super easy, just crumbled the nuggets into his bowl and added some water. My dog, usually a super slow eater, went absolutely nuts for it! He gobbled it down faster than I've ever seen him eat anything. I was pretty shocked, to be honest.

Watching for Changes

Of course, the real test is how he does on it long-term. I kept an eye on his, uh, "output" (you know what I mean) to make sure everything was digesting okay. And I also watched his energy levels. After a few weeks, I definitely noticed a difference. He seemed more playful, his coat looked shinier, and his poops were, well, better. Less smelly, too, which is always a plus!

  • His energy improved.
  • Coat looked better.
  • Digestion seemed great.

My Two Cents

Overall, I'm really happy I switched him to Northwest Naturals. It's a little pricier than what I was feeding him before, but seeing how much he loves it and how much better he seems to be doing, I think it's worth it. It’s my experience. I think it will work well for your dogs, too.
