Okay, so today I wanted to try out something a little different – making a toy for my wiener dog. You know, those long, low-rider pups? They have pretty specific needs when it comes to toys, and I got tired of buying stuff that just didn’t work for my little buddy.

Getting Started

First, I gathered some stuff I had lying around the house. I grabbed an old pair of jeans that I didn’t wear anymore, some rope that was just sitting in the garage, and some stuffing from an old pillow I was about to toss. I figured, why not use what I already have, right?

The Process

  • I started by cutting the jeans into long strips. This was a bit of a workout, to be honest. Denim is tougher than it looks!

  • Next, I took those denim strips and braided them together. This was kinda fun, like making a friendship bracelet, but way bigger. I made sure to pull the fabric tight so it would be sturdy.

  • Then, I tied a big knot at one end of the braid. This would be one end of the toy.

  • After that, I stuffed some of that old pillow stuffing into the middle of the braid. I didn’t want it to be too hard, just enough to give it some shape and make it a bit squishy for my dog to chew on.

  • I used the rope to tie up the other end. I wrapped it around real tight and made a bunch of knots so it wouldn’t come undone.

The Result

When I was done, it actually looked like a decent toy! It was long and flexible, perfect for a wiener dog to grab and shake around. I gave it to my dog, and he went nuts for it! He was chewing on it, tossing it in the air, and running around with it like a crazy pup. It was a total success! I was super proud of myself for making something my dog actually loved, and it didn’t even cost me anything.

So, if you have a wiener dog, or any dog for that matter, you should totally try making your own toys. It’s way easier than you might think, and it’s a great way to recycle old stuff. Plus, your pup will probably love it more than any store-bought toy. Trust me, my little guy is the living proof!
