Top-Rated anise dog toy: Durable and Long-lasting?

Okay, so I saw this "anise dog toy" thing trending, and I was like, "What's the big deal?" My pup, Buster, is a serious chewer. He goes through toys like they're made of paper. So, I figured, why not give this anise thing a shot? I'm always up for trying something new for my furry buddy.

Getting Started

First, I had to figure out what I even needed. I did some digging. Turns out, it's pretty simple.

  • Anise seed: Got this from the spice aisle at the grocery store.
  • Some sturdy fabric: I used an old pair of jeans that were about ready for the trash. I liked it can make toy for my dog.
  • Needle and thread: Basic sewing kit stuff.
  • Scissors: For cutting the fabric, obviously.

Making the Toy

I'm not a sewing expert, my sewing kit is not professional, but I can handle a basic stitch.I was exciting to make it for my dog!

  1. I cut the jeans into two squares. Maybe about 6x6 inches? Didn't measure, just eyeballed it.
  2. Then, I put the squares together, good sides facing in.
  3. I sewed around three sides, leaving one side open to make a little pouch.
  4. Next, I flipped the pouch right-side out.
  5. I sprinkled a good amount of anise seed into the pouch. Don't be shy with it, the smell is the whole point!
  6. Finally, I sewed up that last open side. Made sure to do a double stitch, because, like I said, Buster is a POWER chewer.

The Test

I tossed the finished toy to Buster. He sniffed it for a second, then went absolutely NUTS. He was chasing it, chewing it, pawing at it… it was a hit!He loves the smell so much!

It's been a few days now, and the toy is still holding up! It's definitely one of the more durable toys I've made or bought for him. Plus, the anise smell is still strong, which keeps him interested.

My Takeaway

Honestly, I'm pretty impressed. This was super easy, cheap, and Buster loves it. If your dog is into scented toys, or if you're just looking for something to keep them busy, I'd say give this a try. It is a good and easy DIY toy!
