Stop! Female dog peeing on my couch solution here
Okay, so, like, the other day I'm chillin' at home, right? And I smell pee. Not just any pee, my dog's pee. I'm thinkin', "No way, not the couch!" But yeah, there it was, a nice wet spot right on my favorite cushion.

First thing I did? I freaked out. Seriously, I was yelling. Not at the dog, she's a sweetheart, but at the situation. I mean, who wants dog pee on their couch?
After I calmed down (a little), I started thinkin'. She's usually so good about going outside. This was totally out of character. So I started retracing our steps. Here’s what I did:
- Cleaned the crime scene: Obvious, right? I grabbed some paper towels, soaked up as much as I could, and then used an enzymatic cleaner. Gotta get rid of the smell, or she'll just go back to the same spot. I used like, half a bottle of the stuff.
- Played detective: I started thinking about what might have changed. Had we changed her food? Nope. New detergent? Nope. Any stressful events? Hmm… My sister visited with her loud kids. Maybe that stressed her out?
- Observed her like a hawk: The next day, I watched her like a hawk. I followed her around, paid attention to how often she was drinking water, and when she was sniffing around like she needed to go.
- Potty breaks every hour: I took her outside every hour on the hour, even if she didn't seem like she needed to go. Just to be safe, you know? Reward her like crazy with treats and praise when she does her business outside. Make her think she is the best dog ever.
- Vet visit, just in case: I called the vet and scheduled an appointment. I figured it was better to be safe than sorry. Maybe she had a UTI or something.
Turns out, the vet said she was perfectly healthy. So, it was probably the stress of the kids visiting. She's a sensitive little thing. I felt bad for yelling!
After that, I made a point of giving her extra attention and reassurance. I also bought a calming diffuser with dog-friendly essential oils. Seemed to help a bit. And I warned my sister to keep her kids from chasing the dog.
So far, so good. No more couch accidents. Fingers crossed it stays that way! The key, I think, was paying attention and figuring out what triggered it. Now, I just need to find a good couch cover. Ya know, just in case!
