Rachel Dog Food Review: Is It Really Worth the Hype?
Okay, so I've been meaning to switch up my dog's food for a while now. My golden retriever, Max, has been getting a little, shall we say, fluffy around the edges. Plus, his coat hasn't been looking as shiny as it used to. I'd heard good things about Rachel Ray Nutrish, so I figured I'd give it a shot and document the whole process. Here's how it went down:

The Research Phase
First, I, you know did some googling. I wanted to see what other people were saying about it. I checked out some reviews and compared different formulas. It looked there were the normal food and some special food. Seems like there's a bunch of different flavors, too – chicken, beef, salmon. Max isn't picky, but I figured I'd start with the chicken and veggies recipe, it's classic.
Getting the Goods
Next step was to get the food. I went to the shop, found it and it was very easy. It was right there with all the other dog food, and honestly, the packaging looked pretty good. I grabbed a small bag to start, just in case Max turned his nose up at it.
The First Taste Test
This is where things got real. When I got home, I opened the bag, and the smell wasn't overwhelming or anything. It just smelled like, well, dog food. I put some in Max's bowl, and he came running over like he always does. He sniffed it for a second, and then – CHOMP! He went straight in. Success! He seemed to really like it, which was a relief.
The Waiting Game
Now, It is waiting to see some result. I've been feeding Max the Rachel Ray Nutrish for about two weeks now. I started by mixing it with his old food, gradually increasing the amount of the new stuff. This is supposed to help with digestion, so his tummy doesn't get upset.
- Week 1:Mostly his old food, with a little bit of the Rachel Ray mixed in. No problems so far.
- Week 2:Half and half. Still good! He's still gobbling it down.
- Week 3: Full * ate all.
The Results (So Far!)
It's still early days, but I'm already noticing some positive changes. Max's poops are looking more, um, solid, which is always a good sign. And I swear his coat is starting to look a little shinier! He also seems to have a bit more energy, which is great because we can play longer at the park.
I'm going to keep him on this food for a while longer and see how it goes. I'll probably update this post in a few weeks with more results. So far, though, I'm pretty happy with the Rachel Ray Nutrish. It seems like a good quality food, and Max definitely enjoys it. Two paws up from us!
