Plush Olaf Dog Toy : Cuddly and high-quanlity toys for your dog!
Okay, so I've been seeing these "Olaf" dog toys everywhere, and my pup, Buster, goes through toys like crazy. I figured, why not try to make one myself? It seemed like a fun little project, and hey, maybe I could save a few bucks in the long run.

The Grand Experiment: Making an Olaf Dog Toy
First, I needed a plan. I'm no sewing expert, so I knew this had to be simple. I grabbed some old white fleece I had lying around – Buster loves soft stuff. I also found some orange and black felt scraps for the nose and, you know, Olaf's... face details.
I basically freehanded the shape. I mean, Olaf's a snowman, right? How hard could it be? I cut out two big, wonky, blob-like shapes for the body. Then I did a smaller, rounder blob for the head. It looked... vaguely Olaf-ish. Good enough for a dog, I thought!
Next up, the felt. I cut out a little carrot-shaped piece for the nose and some wonky circles for the eyes and buttons. I'm telling you, precision was NOT my strong suit here.
- Step 1: Fleece Blobs. Two big, one small-ish.
- Step 2: Felt Bits. Carrot nose, circle eyes, circle buttons. All very... rustic.
- Step 3: Sewing... Sort Of. This is where things got interesting.
I started sewing the two big body pieces together, inside out, of course. My sewing machine skills are... let's just say "enthusiastic." The lines were crooked, the stitches were uneven, but hey, it was holding together. I left a little gap so I could stuff it.
Stuffing time! I used some old pillow stuffing I had saved. I crammed that thing full. Then, I sewed the head onto the body. Again, very crooked, very… homemade-looking.
I hand-stitched the felt pieces onto the head. The orange nose went on, slightly off-center. The eyes were definitely not symmetrical. But you know what? It kind of added to the charm. It looked like a very, very loved (and maybe slightly abused) Olaf.
The Verdict
I gave the finished product to Buster. He sniffed it, looked at me with his big, goofy eyes, and then... proceeded to rip Olaf's head off in approximately 3.5 minutes. So, mission accomplished? I guess?
It wasn't pretty, it wasn't perfect, and it certainly didn't last long. But, it was a fun little experiment, and Buster seemed to enjoy destroying it, which is really the whole point, right? Maybe next time I'll try a tougher material... or just buy one from the store. We'll see!
