Noticed a Change? Why Is My Dog More Cuddly Than Usual, What It Could Mean.

So, I’ve got this dog, a real sweetheart, but lately, he’s been all over me, like, way more than usual. I mean, I love the cuddles, but it got me thinking, “Why the sudden change?”

Noticed a Change? Why Is My Dog More Cuddly Than Usual, What It Could Mean.

First off, I started observing him more closely. Was he eating okay? Drinking enough water? Pooping normally? Everything seemed fine there. No signs of him being sick or anything. Phew, that’s a relief!

Then I racked my brain. Did I change anything recently? New food? Nope. Different walking schedule? Nah. New dog bed? Bingo! I did get him a super comfy new bed a week ago. Could that be it? Maybe he’s just so happy with his new bed that he’s showing extra love? It’s possible, right?

But I also remembered reading somewhere that sudden clinginess can be a sign of anxiety in dogs. Oh boy, now I’m starting to worry a bit. I started paying attention to his behavior when I was getting ready to leave the house. Was he more anxious than usual? Tail between his legs? Whimpering? Not really. He seemed pretty chill, just, you know, extra cuddly.

  • I even did a little experiment.
  • I pretended to leave the house a few times, keys in hand, jacket on.
  • He definitely followed me to the door, but no major freak-outs.
  • Just a lot of tail-wagging and hopeful looks.

So, what’s the verdict? Honestly, I’m still not 100% sure. Maybe he’s just going through a super affectionate phase. Maybe the new bed really did make him that happy. Or maybe there’s something else going on that I haven’t figured out yet.

What I’ve done is followed:

I’ve decided to give it a little more time and keep observing him. If the extra cuddliness continues, or if he starts showing other signs of anxiety, I’ll definitely take him to the vet just to be safe. Better safe than sorry, right? But for now, I’m just gonna enjoy the extra snuggles from my furry best friend. After all, who can resist a cuddly dog? Not me!
