Monkey Toy Dog for Chewing: Durable Options for Your Dog.
Okay, so the other day I decided to make a "monkey toy dog". Sounds kinda random, I know, but I was feeling crafty and had some leftover materials.

Getting Started
First, I gathered all my stuff. This included:
- Some old brown fabric (looked kinda monkey-ish, you know?)
- A bunch of fluffy stuffing from an old pillow I didn't use anymore
- Needle and thread (basic, I'm no sewing expert)
- Buttons for eyes – I went with mismatched ones for a goofy look
- Some yarn for a little tail
The Messy Middle
I started by roughly sketching out a dog shape on the fabric. Think super basic, like a kid's drawing. Then I cut out two of these shapes – a front and a back.
Next, I pinned the two pieces together, inside-out (so the "good" side of the fabric was touching). This part was a bit tricky, the fabric kept slipping. I sewed around the edges, leaving a gap at the bottom to turn it right-side-out and stuff it.
Turning it the right way was a bit of a struggle, especially the little legs. I used a pencil to poke the fabric through. Then came the stuffing! I just shoved handfuls of fluff in there until it looked plump and dog-like(ish).
Finishing Touches
Once it was all stuffed, I sewed up the hole at the bottom. Then I attached the button eyes. Like I said, mismatched – one big, one small. Made it look kinda quirky.
Finally, I took some yarn and braided it to make a little tail, which I sewed onto the back. It's not perfect, a bit lopsided, but hey, it's a tail!
The Result
The final "monkey toy dog" is… well, it's something. It's definitely homemade-looking, a little wonky, but I like it. My kid thought it was hilarious, which is the main thing. It's now sitting on a shelf, looking all goofy and cute. Might try making another one sometime, maybe a "cat toy elephant"? Who knows!
