Okay, so I've been meaning to share this for a while, and it's finally time! We got a new puppy a few months back – a super energetic Vizsla – and the biggest debate in our house was what to name him. Since he's going to be my hunting buddy, I wanted a name that fit that role. So, I dove headfirst into the world of male dog names for hunting dogs.

The real test? The family vote! I presented my list to my wife and kids. We talked about each name, what it meant, and how it sounded when we yelled it across the yard (very important!).
The Winner!
After some serious (and some not-so-serious) debate, we finally landed on... Ruger! It just felt right. It's tough, it's related to hunting, and it suits his personality perfectly.
The whole process was actually really fun. It made me think about what I wanted in a hunting partner and what kind of dog our puppy was turning out to be. And now, every time I call out "Ruger!", I'm reminded of that whole naming adventure.
