Indestructible Chew Toys for Small Dogs? We Found the Best!
Okay, so my little chihuahua, Peanut, has more energy than a toddler on a sugar rush. I swear, if I don't keep him entertained, he'll start chewing on my shoes, the furniture, anything he can get his tiny teeth on! So, I started looking into chew toys specifically for small dogs, because, you know, a Great Dane's toy would probably swallow him whole.

First, I went to the pet store. Wow, talk about overwhelming! There were rows and rows of toys, all different shapes, sizes, and materials. I felt totally lost. I grabbed a few that looked small enough and seemed durable, but honestly, I was just guessing.
My Toy Testing Phase
- The "Super Tough" Rubber Bone: Peanut looked at it, sniffed it, then walked away. Total fail. It was probably too hard for his little teeth.
- The Plush Squirrel with a Squeaker: This one was a hit...for about five minutes. He loved the squeaker, but then he ripped that poor squirrel to shreds. Stuffing everywhere!
- The Rope Toy: This seemed promising. It was small enough for him to carry around, and he seemed to enjoy gnawing on it. But, he started pulling out the individual strands and, well, I didn't want him eating those.
So, back to the drawing board,I ask my friend. My friend give some great * must be soft and can make some sound.
I went online. I started reading reviews, looking for toys that other small dog owners recommended. I focused on things that were specifically labeled as "indestructible" (yeah, right) or "for aggressive chewers."
Finally, I found it! It's a weird-looking, bumpy, rubber thingy (technical term, I know). It's made of some kind of super-durable material, and it has little nubs all over it that are supposed to be good for their teeth. And, it has a tiny hole where you can put treats! Genius!
Peanut LOVES it. He chews on it for hours, carries it around like it's his baby, and even tries to bury it in his bed. It's been a few weeks now, and it's still in one piece. Success!
So, that's my journey to finding the perfect chew toy for my tiny terror. It took some trial and error, a lot of shredded plushies, and a bit of online research, but we finally got there. Now, if only I could find a toy that would tire him out completely...
