Elura for Dogs: Does It Really Work for Feline Appetite?
Alright, guys, gather ’round, because today I’m going to talk about something that’s been a real game-changer for my furry friend – Elura for dogs.
So, my dog, let’s call him Buddy, he’s been a picky eater for a while. It was always a struggle to get him to eat enough, and I was starting to worry. I tried everything, different types of food, homemade meals, you name it. Nothing seemed to work consistently. He’d have good days and bad days, but mostly bad. He’s getting older, so it started to really concern me. He’s my best bud, you know?
Then, a friend of mine, she’s got a cat, told me about this stuff called Elura. Apparently, it’s an appetite stimulant for cats with chronic kidney problems and other issues that make them not want to eat. I’m thinking, well, maybe they have something for dogs, too.
I did some digging and found out there’s a dog version of Elura called Entyce. Same thing, basically, just for dogs. I figured, heck, why not? Buddy’s health is worth a shot. It’s supposed to work like a “hunger hormone” called ghrelin. So, you give it to them, and it makes them want to eat. Neat, huh?
First I went to see my vet. He gave Buddy a check-up and ran some tests to see if there was any underlying reason why he was not eating. The vet said he’s healthy as a horse, just a bit fussy. So I finally got my hands on some Entyce. It’s this liquid stuff that comes in a bottle. You gotta shake it up a bit, then there’s a little syringe to measure out the dose. It says that it works pretty fast, within one or two hours.
The first time I gave it to Buddy, I was a bit nervous, not gonna lie. I followed the instructions, measured out the right amount, and mixed it with a little bit of his food. He sniffed it for a second, then, bam! He gobbled it all down. I was like, “Whoa, what just happened?”
- First Day: He ate a full meal for the first time in ages! I was so relieved, I almost cried. I kept an eye on him to see if there were any problems. They say there might be some side effects like fever, drooling, or even seizures, but Buddy was fine.
- Next Few Days: He kept eating! Every meal. It was like a miracle. I’ve heard people say that Entyce didn’t work as well as another medicine called Mirtazapine, but for Buddy, Entyce worked perfectly. I was so excited, I even took some video of him enjoying his food and sent it to my cat-loving friend.
- A Week Later: He’s like a new dog! He’s got more energy, his coat looks better, and he’s just happier overall. He still needs to take Entyce, and I still need to rinse that little syringe after every time I use it, but it’s totally worth it.
It’s been a few weeks now, and Buddy’s still doing great. His appetite is back to normal, and he’s gained a bit of weight back, which is exactly what the vet wanted. It’s such a relief to see him enjoying his food again and not have to worry about him not eating enough.
So, yeah, that’s my experience with Entyce, or as they call it for cats, Elura. If your dog’s a picky eater, and you’ve tried everything, it might be worth talking to your vet about this stuff. It’s definitely been a lifesaver for Buddy and me.
