Doggie Daycare Prices: Tips for Finding the Right Fit for Your Dog!

Okay, so I’ve been thinking about getting a dog for a while now, but I work long hours. I don’t want to leave my future furry friend home alone all day! That’s not fair to the little guy. So, I started looking into doggie daycares. Figured it would be a good way for the pup to socialize and get some energy out while I’m at work.

Doggie Daycare Prices: Tips for Finding the Right Fit for Your Dog!

First, I did some digging online to see what places were near me. I found a few that looked promising. I made a list and started with some basic checks. Then, I figured the best way to really know what’s up is to actually, you know, go there.

I picked a couple of the daycares that had good reviews and were close by. I called them up – just a quick “Hey, I’m interested in your daycare, can I come check it out?” kind of call. One place was super friendly and scheduled a tour right away. The other place, not so much. They were kind of vague and didn’t seem too interested in showing me around. Red flag, I guess.

So, I went to the first place, and it was pretty cool! It was a big open space, lots of room for the dogs to run around. They had separate areas for big dogs and little dogs, which is good. The staff seemed really nice and they were playing with the dogs, and I could tell the dogs were all having a blast. They told me about their daily routine – playtime, nap time, snack time. Sounds like a dog’s dream, right?

  • Visiting the Daycare:
  • Made a list of potential daycares and gave them a call.
  • Scheduled a tour for the promising ones.
  • Checked out the facilities. Big, open spaces, separate areas for different sized dogs – that’s important!
  • Observed the staff interacting with the dogs. They seemed genuinely caring, and the dogs looked happy.

I also learned that this daycare is kind of noisy and busy. All that barking and playing. Some dogs might find it a bit much, especially if they’re not used to it. They did mention that they have nap times built into the schedule, which is good. Even the most energetic pups need a break!

The staff explained their pricing, and it varies. I think it is acceptable.

What I learned:

  • Do your research: Don’t just pick the first place you find.
  • Visit in person: Get a feel for the environment and see how the staff interacts with the dogs.
  • Ask about the schedule: Make sure there’s a good balance of playtime and rest.
  • Consider your dog’s personality: A busy daycare might not be the best fit for every dog.

I’m still in the process of deciding, but visiting the daycare in person gave me a much better idea of what to expect. I also visited another daycare place, and it felt right for me. Now I just need to find the right dog for me!
