Dog Throw Toy Buying Tips:What to Look For durability.
Okay, so yesterday I decided to make a new toy for my dog, Max. He absolutely destroys everything I buy him, so I figured, why not try making something myself? I grabbed some old fleece blankets I had lying around – you know, the ones with the embarrassing patterns you hide when guests come over.
First, I cut the fleece into strips. I wasn't too precise about it, just eyeballed it. I think I made them about 2 inches wide and maybe 2 feet long? I ended up with a big pile of colorful strips.
Next, I tied a knot at one end of three strips, like I was starting a braid. I made sure it was a super tight knot, because Max is a serious chewer.

- Step 2: Tie three strips together at one end.
- Step 3: Braid!
Then came the fun part – braiding! It was just like braiding hair, only with thicker, fuzzier strands. I braided it as tightly as I could, pulling each strip taut to make it strong. It took a bit of time, and my hands got a little tired, but it was kind of relaxing, actually.
Once I got to the end of the strips, I tied another super-tight knot. Again, I focused on making it really secure. I didn't want Max pulling this thing apart in five minutes.
The Final Result
It wasn't the prettiest thing, but it was sturdy! A big, long, colorful braided fleece rope. I threw it to Max, and he went nuts. He loves it! He's been chewing on it, shaking it, and playing tug-of-war with it all day. So far, it's holding up pretty well. I'm actually kind of impressed with myself.
