Dog Hotel Prices Near Me: Get the Best Value for Your Money at a Local Dog Hotel.

Okay, so I needed to find a place for my furry friend, Buster, to stay while I was out of town last week. I started looking into this whole “dog hotel” thing, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey. I just needed to know the “dog hotel prices near me” and let me share what I found.

First, I searched online. You know, the usual. I just typed “dog hotel prices near me” into the search bar. Lots of stuff popped up. Some were fancy places, some were just regular kennels, I don’t even know what is the best option for my dog.

I started clicking through a few websites. It looked like most places offered different packages, like basic boarding, or you could add on extras like playtime, grooming, and even special treats. That’s sounds good, but actually I don’t know the difference between each package, and which is the most valuable.

  • Some websites had their prices listed, which was super helpful.
  • Others made you call or email for a quote. Honestly, who has time for that?

I noticed a big range in prices. One place, a local family-run spot in a nearby rural town, quoted me around $40 a night for a small dog kennel. They seemed really nice and down-to-earth, but I just don’t know their service, reputation and is it good enough.

Then there were these fancy places, the kind that called themselves “pet resorts.” They had all sorts of stuff, like swimming pools for dogs and even TV in their rooms! Can you believe it? The prices there were way higher, like $75 a night and up. I started to wonder if Buster really needed a luxury vacation.

I also looked into some other options. There was a service called PetSmart PetsHotel, which was like a boarding and daycare in one. They also mentioned they could take care of cats, too, but I did not have a cat, so I did not care about it. But I needed something close by, so I decided to check out a few places in person.

My Visit

I visited two different dog hotels near my place. The first one was more like a traditional kennel. It was clean, but kind of basic. The staff seemed friendly enough. They showed me the kennels and the outdoor area where the dogs could play. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything special, either.

The second place was one of those fancier “pet resorts.” It was definitely nicer, with bigger rooms for the dogs and more amenities. They had a big indoor play area and even a little splash pad for the dogs to cool off. But again, the price was much higher. I started to feel a bit overwhelmed by all the choices, is it worthy?

In the end, I decided to go with the local, family-run place, although I still have some doubts, I must give it a shot. It wasn’t the cheapest, but it wasn’t the most expensive, either. It just felt right. They seemed to really care about the animals, and that was important to me. Plus, they were close to home, which made drop-off and pick-up easier. Buster seemed happy enough when I dropped him off, so I think I made the right choice. It’s a hard choice but I did it. I will check my dog’s status everyday when I am out of town.
