Dog Growling When Kissed? (Why Does My Dog Growl When I Kiss Him - Find Out!)
Okay, so the other day, I was giving my dog, Buster, some love, you know, the usual cuddles and kisses. But then, I noticed something weird. Every time I went in for a kiss, he'd start growling. It wasn't like an aggressive growl, more like a low rumble. It totally freaked me out!
I'm like, "What the heck, Buster? Why are you growling at me? I'm just trying to show you some affection!"
So, naturally, I started experimenting. I mean, I had to figure out what was going on, right?
My Little Experiment
- First Try: The Slow Approach. I thought, maybe I'm coming on too strong. So I tried approaching him really slowly, talking softly, and then going in for a gentle kiss on the top of his head. Result? Growl.
- Second Try: Different Spot. Okay, maybe he doesn't like kisses on the head. So I tried kissing him on his back, near his tail. Nope. Still growling.
- Third try: No Kiss, Just Proximity. I brought my face down close to his and got growl.
I started to notice a pattern. It wasn't the kiss itself. It was my face, close to his,He see it as a threat.
So, I backed off.I stopped trying to kiss him for a few days, just gave him regular pets and *, when I got comfortable, I tried to give quick peck and no * it worked!
What I figure? My pup's just got his own way of saying, "Back off, lady!" It's all about figuring out his comfort zone and respecting his boundaries.
