Dog Face Rubbing: Why Does My Dog Rub His Face on Me All the Time?

Okay, so the other day, I was sitting on my couch, just chilling and watching TV, when my dog, Buddy, comes trotting over. Nothing unusual there, he's a total cuddle monster. But instead of just plopping down next to me like he normally does, he starts rubbing his face all over my legs and arms. Like, really going at it, snorting and everything.

I'm thinking, "What the heck is this all about?" I mean, I love the guy, but this was a bit much, even for him.

So, first things first, I checked if something was wrong. I looked at his face, checked his eyes and around his mouth, thinking maybe something was irritating him. Nope, nothing. Everything looked clear and normal. He wasn't scratching or pawing at his face, just rubbing it all over me.

I decided to watch to see if he was doing this to something or someone else. I found that he only did it to me.

I also remembered something to do with scent glands, I'm not a vet or anything, so my knowledge is pretty basic. I remembered that dogs have these things called scent glands around their faces. I figured maybe he was trying to mark me or something.

So, yeah, that's basically my story. It was weird, but It turned out my dog was probably just saying, "You're mine!" in his own special, slobbery way. Dogs, am I right?
