Dog Eaten Too Much Dry Food, and Vomiting? (When to Call a vet)
Okay, so this morning started like any other, wake up, let the dogs out, and then feed them. I usually scoop out their dry food, no big deal, right?

Well, today, my brain was apparently still asleep. I poured the food, but I wasn't really paying attention. I just kept pouring... and pouring... until the bowl was overflowing. My dog, bless her heart, looked at me like I'd just given her a mountain of gold.
At first, I thought, "Oh well, she'll just eat what she wants." But then, I remembered reading something about dogs and overeating, something about how it's not good for them. I started to get a little worried.
What I Did
- Watched Her: I kept a close eye on her for the next few hours. I was looking for any signs of discomfort, like bloating, vomiting, or just acting weird.
- No More Food I took away food after the first time.
- Offered Water: I made sure she had plenty of fresh water available. I figured that would help her digest all that food.
- Called the Vet (Just in Case): I didn't actually call, but I had the number ready. I was prepared to call if she showed any signs of distress.
Luckily, she seems fine! She ate a lot, for sure, but she didn't eat the entire mountain of food. She's been acting normal, playing, and napping as usual. So, I think I dodged a bullet this time.
But, lesson learned! I'm definitely going to be more careful when pouring the dog food from now on. Maybe I'll even use a measuring cup, just to be extra safe. I really don't want to go through that mini panic attack again!
