Creative names for dogs from books: Inspire your pets moniker!
Okay, so yesterday I was chilling, right? And my wife throws this idea at me – "Hey, let's get a dog!" Now, I'm usually a 'no pets' kind of guy, but she hits me with the puppy-dog eyes (pun intended!), and I cave. But, I was like, "If we're getting a dog, it needs a cool name. Something… literary."

So, that's how my evening went down the rabbit hole of finding the perfect book-inspired dog name. I started by just Googling "good dog names from books." Predictable, I know, but you gotta start somewhere, right?
First stop: Harry Potter. Obvious choice, but hear me out. I considered "Dobby," but that felt a bit… subservient? "Sirius" was cool, but maybe too on the nose. "Luna" was a contender if we got a girl dog. I made a note.
Then I moved onto Tolkien. "Frodo" felt a bit small and unassuming, unless we get a tiny dog. "Aragorn" was cool, powerful, but a mouthful. "Gandalf" was immediately vetoed by my wife – "Too wizard-y," she said. Women, am I right?
I started digging deeper, thinking about some of my favorite books. "Atticus" from To Kill a Mockingbird popped into my head. I actually really liked that one. It sounded distinguished, brave, and all that good stuff. I wrote it down at the top of my list.
Next, I thought about classics. "Heathcliff" from Wuthering Heights? Too angsty. "Romeo"? Too cheesy. "Hamlet"? Only if the dog is constantly questioning everything.
My wife suggested names from some of her favorite books. "Jane" from Jane Eyre was a strong contender for a girl dog. Simple, classic, and literary. "Elizabeth" from Pride and Prejudice was also on the list, but maybe a bit too formal.
I even started looking at character traits in books and translating them into potential names. Like, if the dog is super loyal, maybe something like "Samwise" (from LOTR) or "Watson" (from Sherlock Holmes). If it's a mischievous little rascal, maybe "Puck" (from A Midsummer Night's Dream).
Finally, after like, two hours of brainstorming and Google searches, we narrowed it down to a few finalists:

- Atticus
- Luna
- Jane
- Watson
Now, the real challenge begins: waiting to see what the dog looks like and what its personality is like before making the final decision. But hey, at least we've got a solid starting point. Wish us luck!
