Candy Names for Dogs: Find the Perfect Sweet Name for Your Dog

Okay, so I’ve got a new puppy! Super cute, fluffy little thing. And like any new dog owner, I was stuck on what to name him. I spent days, like, seriously, days, trying to come up with the perfect name. My family was throwing out all sorts of suggestions, from “Sir Barks-a-lot” to “Chewbarker.” Funny, right? But nothing really clicked. I wanted something unique, something that really fit my little guy’s personality, plus I was getting tired of the same old names, you know? Max, Buddy, Charlie… they’re great, but they are just everywhere.

Then it hit me. I’m a huge candy lover. Seriously, I have a major sweet tooth. So why not combine two of my favorite things? Dogs and candy! That is when I started down this rabbit hole of candy names for dogs. It has been a real adventure, let me tell you.

First, I grabbed my laptop and started with the obvious. I searched for things like “candy names for dogs.” The usual suspects popped up – Snickers, Skittles, Twix. Those were okay, but I wanted to dig deeper. I mean, a dog is a member of your family, you know? The name has to be just right.

I made a huge list of all the candies I could think of. From chocolate bars to gummy bears, and even those weird hard candies that your grandma always has in a dish. Then I started crossing out those that were a little tricky to pronounce or ones that might sound weird when I’m yelling it across the dog park, you know? “Bonbon, come here!” is not exactly a great name to be yelling out.

Then, I started thinking about my puppy’s personality. He’s a playful little guy, always bouncing around and getting into everything. So, I figured a name that reflects that energy would be perfect. And he’s also super sweet, always cuddling up and giving kisses. Some of the names I considered were:

  • Rolo – because he rolls around all the time.
  • Gummy – because he’s kinda chewy and squishy like a gummy bear.
  • Tootsie – it just sounded cute, and he does have little tootsies.
  • Hershey – I thought it might be nice to name him after a classic.

After much deliberation and many, many treats later (for both of us), I finally settled on the name. You wanna know what I picked? Drumroll, please… I named him Rolo! It’s fun, it’s sweet, and it totally fits his personality. Plus, it’s not a name you hear every day at the dog park. And who knows, maybe it will start a whole new trend of candy-inspired dog names. It might sound kind of silly to some people, but to me, it was the perfect way to find a name that meant something to me and fit my new best friend.

Anyway, if you’re ever stuck trying to name a pet, think about the things you love. You might just stumble upon the perfect name in the most unexpected place. Like in a candy wrapper! It’s been a fun journey, and now I have a puppy with a name that’s as sweet as he is. Who could ask for more than that?

Conclusion

After all that work, I really think Rolo suits him. He seems to like it, too, at least I think he does from the way he wags his tail when I call him. I hope this helps any of you out there who are stuck like I was. Just remember, it’s all about finding something that works for you and your furry friend!
