Best Zelda Inspired Dog Names: Male and Female

Okay, so check this out, I was trying to come up with a good name for my new pup, right? A real head-scratcher. Didn't want anything generic, like "Buddy" or "Spot". Nah, I wanted something with a bit of oomph, something unique.

So, I'm sitting there, scratching my head, and my wife's like, "You're such a nerd, why don't you just use a Zelda name?" And I was like, "Whoa, that's actually kinda brilliant!"

First thing I did, I fired up the old Google machine. Typed in "zelda names for dogs," boom! Loads of lists popped up. Spent a good hour just scrolling through them all.

I started making a shortlist. "Link" was too obvious, everyone names their dog Link. "Zelda" was kinda cute, but maybe a bit too girly for my rambunctious little dude. "Ganon" was tempting, because he's a real menace sometimes, haha! But, you know, maybe not the best association.

Then I started digging deeper. Found some lesser-known character names. "Epona" was cool, but felt more like a horse name (duh!). "Midna" was interesting, had a bit of an edge to it.

Kept scrolling, kept thinking. My dog, he's got this real playful energy, kinda goofy, but also loyal. Needed something that captured that.

Finally, I saw it: "Rauru"!

I was like, "Rauru... Rauru... Yeah, I like that!" It sounds distinguished, but also kinda fun. Plus, Rauru is a wise and helpful character in Ocarina of Time. Seemed like a good fit.

Tried it out a few times, calling the pup, "Rauru! Come here, Rauru!" He seemed to respond to it. My wife liked it too, which is always a bonus.

So, yeah, that's how my dog ended up with a Zelda name. It's a bit nerdy, sure, but it's unique, and it fits him perfectly. I'm happy with it!
