Okay, here's my blog post about using Selarid Topical Solution on my dog:

So, my furry buddy, Max, he's a golden retriever, started scratching like crazy a few weeks back. It was non-stop, and he was starting to get these red, irritated patches on his skin. I felt awful for the little guy. Figured it was probably fleas or something, so I decided to try out Selarid.

Getting Started

I went and picked up the Selarid from the vet. Make sure you talk to your vet before giving your dog new stuff, you know, just to be on the safe side, every dog is different. They helped me to get the right dose based on Max's weight, its very important. It comes in these little tubes, and you gotta get the right size for your dog's weight class.

The Application Process

• First, I made sure Max was calm. I gave him a good brushing first to get any loose fur out of the way.
• Then, I parted his fur at the back of his neck, between his shoulder blades. You want to get right down to the skin.
• I opened up one of those little Selarid tubes. It's kinda oily stuff.
• I squeezed all the liquid from the tube onto that one spot on his skin. I kept squeezing for a long while!

It's important to put it where they can't lick it off. That's why the back of the neck is the best spot. My friend put it too low on his back and he saw his dog lick it. He was so mad.

After Applying Selarid

After I put it on, I made sure Max didn't roll around or rub against anything for a while. I also made sure he didn't get in the water, because it won't work. I kept an eye on him to make sure he wasn't having any weird reactions, like, extra scratching, redness, or anything like that. He seemed fine, just a little annoyed that I messed with his fur.

Did It Work?

It took a few days, but I definitely started noticing a difference. The scratching slowed down, and those red patches started to heal. After about a week, he was back to his old, happy self, rolling around in the grass and not scratching at all! I kept using it every month, as directed, to keep those pesky fleas away.

All in all, I'd say Selarid worked pretty well for Max. It was easy to use, and it definitely helped with his flea problem. But, like I said, talk to your vet first! They'll know what's best for your dog.
