Best dog leash toy: Where to buy and what features to look for?

Okay, so I've been meaning to make one of these for ages, and I finally got around to it. My dog, Max, he's a chewer. Destroys everything. So, I wanted to make him a super tough toy that would also be fun for tug-of-war. That's how I came up with the idea to make a dog leash toy.

First, I gathered my materials. I had this old, like, super-duty leash that I didn't use anymore because the clip was broken. Perfect! Then I grabbed some fleece scraps I had lying around from another project. Any thick, sturdy fabric would work, though.

The Making Process

• I Cut the leash, I cut the broken clip off and decided on the length I want to leave, I wanted a good length for Max to grab, so I went with about 3 feet, then I cut the fleece. I cut it into strips, maybe 2 inches wide and a bit longer than the leash. Didn't need to be perfect, just long enough to wrap around.

• Then I started wrapping. I took a fleece strip and started tightly wrapping it around the leash, overlapping a bit with each turn. I just kept going, adding more strips as needed, until the whole leash was covered. The goal was to make it thick and padded.

• Next, I Secured the fleece. Once the whole thing was wrapped, I used some heavy-duty thread to sew the fleece ends down. I just did a basic stitch, nothing fancy, but I made sure it was really secure. I went back and forth a few times to make sure it wouldn't unravel.

• After that, I Added some knots. For extra grip and chewiness, I tied a few big, simple knots along the length of the toy. Made it look more interesting, too.

Finally, I Tested it out! Max went absolutely nuts for it. He loves chewing on the fleece, and we've had some epic tug-of-war battles. It's held up really well so far. I'm pretty proud of myself, to be honest. It was super easy, and it saved me from buying another toy that he'd probably destroy in a day.

I think it's a pretty successful project to make my dog happy.
