Performatrin Naturals Dog Food: What Vets Are Saying!

Okay, so, let me tell you about my recent adventure with dog food. I’ve been trying to find a good brand for my furry buddy, Max, and it’s been quite a journey. The other day, I decided to give Performatrin Naturals a try.

Performatrin Naturals Dog Food: What Vets Are Saying!

First, I walked into the pet store, and let me tell you, the sheer number of dog food options is overwhelming! There are rows upon rows of bags and cans, all promising to be the best for your pup. I started by browsing the aisles, you know, casually checking out different brands. Then I remembered reading somewhere that a lot of vets recommend brands like Hill’s, Royal Canin, and Purina Pro Plan, apparently, they do a bunch of research and stuff to make their food top-notch. But today I wanted to see what else there was.

Then I stumbled upon the Performatrin section. I learned that it’s actually the Pet Valu’s brand, and they’re pretty big in Canada, like 600 stores big. So, I picked up a bag of Performatrin Naturals. It says on the bag that it’s made in Canada with both local and imported ingredients, and it meets the AAFCO standards for all life stages. That sounded good to me.

Now, I’ve heard some mixed things about grain-free diets. I even talked to my vet once, because I was feeding Max a different brand, Acana, but my vet suggested switching to a food with grains. My vet also mentioned something about some health issues that could be linked to grain-free food, so I was a little nervous about that. Another time I read on the internet about a dog owner saying that when they switched their dog’s food to grain-free, something bad happened and they talked to the vet, and the vet said that was probably why. Anyway, I decided to start with a regular, grain-inclusive formula from Performatrin.

So, I got home, opened the bag, and gave Max his first bowl of Performatrin Naturals. He seemed to like it, gobbled it right up! I watched him closely for the next few days to see how he was doing with it.

  • First day: Max seemed to enjoy the food. No immediate issues.
  • Few days later: His energy levels were good, and his poops were, well, normal. That’s always a good sign!

I kept him on Performatrin Naturals for a while, and honestly, he was doing great. No digestive problems, his coat looked shiny, and he was his usual playful self.

My Experience

My experience with Performatrin Naturals has been pretty positive. It was easy to find at the store, Max liked it, and it didn’t upset his stomach. Plus, it didn’t break the bank, which is always a plus. I saw another variety, the Performatrin Ultra Lamb and Brown Rice, which doesn’t have any chicken, wheat, or corn. It was a bit cheaper than those special vet foods and I thought that would come in handy when I don’t have time to order online.

Switching dog food can be a bit of a hassle, but I’m glad I gave Performatrin Naturals a try. It turned out to be a good option for Max, and it made me feel good knowing that I was feeding him something decent.
