Sheba Dog Food Review: What You Need to Know Before You Buy.

Okay, so I’ve been messing around with different dog foods lately, trying to find something that my picky little guy will actually eat and that’s good for him too. Today, I wanna talk about Sheba dog food.

Sheba Dog Food Review: What You Need to Know Before You Buy.

First off, I grabbed a few different flavors of Sheba from the store. They have these little trays that are pretty convenient, I gotta say. I noticed they have a “Fresh & Fine” line, which sounds fancy, but also kinda made me wonder if it’s worth the extra money. They say it only contains 4% of the meat ingredients.

  • I compared Sheba to some other brands I had at home, like Iams and Wellness, just to see how they stack up, you know? And I also found a comparison with Royal Canin. I checked out the ingredients and the prices. It seems Sheba is in the middle somewhere – not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either.
  • Then I did some digging online, reading reviews and stuff. Some people said their dogs love Sheba, but others said their dogs wouldn’t touch it. I also read some reviews saying that it has the highest protein count of non-prescription foods. But Sheba is down there with Friskies/Fancy Feast/Purina. I guess it depends on the dog.

So, I decided to give it a try. I opened a tray of the chicken flavor and offered it to my dog. At first, he just sniffed at it, which is normal for him. He’s a tough customer. But then, he actually started eating it! I was pretty surprised, to be honest. He seemed to like it, which is a win in my book.

But here’s the thing – I worked at a vet’s office for a few years, so I know a little bit about pet food. And while Sheba is okay, it’s not the best out there. It’s better than some of the really cheap stuff, but it’s still not top-tier. They said, “Look for a balance of protein, fat, and carbohydrates that meet your dog’s individual needs based on their age, size, and activity level.” I guess that’s true.

My final thoughts

Overall, I think Sheba is a decent option if you’re looking for something convenient and your dog isn’t too picky. But if you’re really focused on the best possible nutrition, you might want to look into some of the more premium brands. I’ll probably keep Sheba in the rotation for now, but I’m still on the hunt for the perfect dog food. I will keep trying different dog food for my dog!
