What is a good frisbee dog toy for fetch games?
Alright, so let me tell you about this frisbee dog toy I decided to make. It all started when I saw this super expensive one at the pet store, and I thought, "Nah, I can totally DIY that." Plus, my doggo, Max, is a frisbee fanatic, so it felt like a fun project.

First thing, I needed materials. I rummaged through my garage and found some sturdy canvas fabric – an old camping tent I wasn't using anymore. Score! I also grabbed some thick nylon rope for reinforcement and some softer fleece scraps for a comfy edge. Safety first, ya know?
Next up: designing the dang thing. I wanted something durable but also easy for Max to catch. I settled on a classic disc shape. I grabbed a dinner plate, traced it onto a piece of cardboard, and boom – template made! Then I cut out two circles of the canvas using my cardboard template.
Then came the sewing. Honestly, sewing ain't my forte, but I gave it a shot. I pinned the two canvas circles together, wrong sides facing out, and started stitching around the edge, leaving a small opening – maybe like three inches wide. I flipped it right side out.
Now for the reinforcement. That nylon rope I mentioned? I carefully tucked it into the edge of the disc, making sure it ran all the way around the circumference. This was tricky, needed to use a flat head screw driver to push it in. This thing will hold up!
Next, I stuffed the frisbee with some of the fleece scraps. Not too much, just enough to give it a little bit of cushion. I didn't want it to be too heavy.
Time to close the opening! I folded the edges in and carefully hand-stitched it shut with some heavy-duty thread. Took my time with this part, making sure the stitches were nice and tight.
Finally, for that comfy edge, I cut a long strip of fleece and folded it over the edge of the frisbee, pinning it in place. Then, I stitched it down using a zigzag stitch to make it secure and look pretty. I even added a few extra stitches in key spots that I thought would take the most abuse.
And that's it! Frisbee dog toy, DIY style. Max went nuts when I tossed it to him. He loves it. He can’t stop chasing after it and bringing it back. So, yeah, it was a success! Plus, I saved some money and got to use up some scrap materials. Win-win!
