Help! My Dog Wont Stop Licking Her Paws (What it Means)
Okay, so my dog, Luna, she's a golden retriever, and recently I noticed she was licking her paws like crazy. It wasn't just a quick clean-up after a walk, it was constant. I mean, all the time. I got a bit worried, you know? So, I started my little investigation.

My Worry Process
First, I checked her paws myself. I looked between her toes, felt for anything stuck in there, checked for any cuts or redness. Honestly, I didn't see anything obvious, but I'm no vet, so who knows.
Then, I started thinking about what could be causing it. Could it be allergies? We hadn't changed her food recently, but maybe it was something outside? We did have a lot of rain lately, so I was leaning that. Or some new cleaning product that I used?
- I tried wiping her paws down with a damp cloth after every walk, just in case it was something she was picking up outside.
- I also made sure to dry her paws really well, especially between the toes, because I read somewhere that moisture can cause problems.
I gave it a few days, but the licking didn't stop. It was actually getting a bit worse, and her paws were starting to look a little irritated. That's when I decided it was time for the professionals.
The Vet Visit
So, I took Luna to the vet. After a thorough check, the vet said it was likely allergies, possibly environmental. The vet also checked a sample under a mircosope to see if it's some kinda infection.
The vet gave me some medicated wipes and a special shampoo to use on her paws. She also suggested I might need to try a different food if the wipes and shampoo didn't help. She said it will probably take a while to figure out what's going on.
It's been a week since the vet visit, and I have been diligently using the wipes and shampoo. Luna seems to be licking a little less, but it's still early days. It's a bit of a waiting game now, but at least I feel like I'm doing something to help her. Hopefully, we'll get to the bottom of it soon!
