Can Dogs Eat Chicken Strips? Benefits and things be aware of.

Okay, so the other day I decided to try making chicken strips for my dog, Max. He's a picky eater, you know? So, I figured, why not try making something myself? Homemade is always better, right?

Getting Started

First, I grabbed some boneless, skinless chicken breasts from the fridge. I think I used, like, two big ones? I washed them under cold water, just to be safe, and patted them dry with paper towels.

Cutting and Preparing

Next, I got out my cutting board and a sharp knife. I sliced the chicken breasts into, well, strips! I tried to make them not too thick, not too thin – maybe about a half-inch thick? Just guessing, really. I am no chef!

Cooking them up!

I thought about baking them, frying them, but I just going to boil these strips. I wanted the treats to be healthy, so I put strips into a pot, cover them with water, and cooked them until they are ready.

  • Filled a pot with enough water to cover the chicken.
  • Brought the water to a boil.
  • Added the chicken strips to the boiling water.
  • Reducedthe strips is ready.

Cooling and Serving

Once they were cooked, I carefully took them out of the pot and put them on a plate lined with paper towels to cool down. I didn't want Max to burn his tongue! It took maybe 15-20 minutes for them to be cool enough. Then, I gave one to Max. He sniffed it for a second, then GOBBLED it down. Success!

Storing the Leftovers

I put the rest of the cooled chicken strips in an airtight container and stuck them in the fridge. They should last a few days, I think. Maybe I'll freeze some next time for longer storage.

All in all, it was pretty easy! And Max seems to love them, which is the most important thing. Might try adding some sweet potato next time, just to mix things up a bit. Woof!
