Explore Doggy Day Care Cost: Average Prices & More

Okay, so I've been thinking about getting a dog for a while now, but I work long hours. I felt super guilty about leaving a pup home alone all day, so I started looking into doggy daycare. Man, it's a whole world out there! Here's what I did and found out.

First Steps: Asking Around

First, I asked my friends with dogs. You know, the ones who always post those adorable pictures on Instagram. I figured they'd have some good local recommendations. A couple of them mentioned places near me, so I jotted those down.

Hitting the Internet

Next, I did what everyone does – I googled "doggy daycare near me." Holy moly, so many options! I started clicking through websites, looking at pictures (gotta see those happy pups!), and, most importantly, checking out their services and pricing.

Making Some Calls

Websites are great, but I wanted to get a feel for the people. So, I picked up the phone and called a few of the places that looked promising. I asked about their daily schedules, how many dogs they take, what kind of activities they do, and, of course, the cost.

  • One place had a super friendly lady on the phone, she really take her time to answer all my questions.
  • Another place sounded a bit rushed, but their website showed a great outdoor area.
  • And the last place,I didn't call, because they did not show the price on website.I don't like this.

The Price Breakdown (The Important Part!)

This is what everyone wants to know, right? How much is this gonna dent my wallet? Well, it varied, a lot!

  • Full Day: Most places charged between $25 and $40 for a full day of care. Some were a bit higher, closer to $50, but they seemed to offer more fancy stuff like individual play sessions or even swimming pools!
  • Half Day: If I only needed care for a few hours, the half-day rates were around $15 to $25.
  • Packages: A lot of places offered package deals. Like, if you buy 10 days upfront, you get a discount. This could save some serious cash if you plan on using daycare regularly.
  • Extras. Some place also have extra cost, like if you pick up your dog later, you may pay addtional money.

My Decision (For Now)

After all my research, I narrowed it down to two places that I really liked. They were both in the $30-$35 range for a full day, and they had great reviews and friendly staff. I'm planning on visiting them next week to see the facilities in person and meet the people who would be taking care of my future furry friend. I'll keep you all posted!
