Stuffable Dog Toys: Keep Your Pup Busy (Easy Guide)
Okay, so my dog, Max, is a super chewer. I swear, that little guy can destroy a regular toy in, like, five minutes flat. It's crazy! I was getting so tired of constantly buying new toys, so I started looking into these "stuffable" dog toys. The idea is you can hide treats or kibble inside, and it keeps them busy longer, right?

So, I started my experiment. First, I gathered a few different types of stuffable toys.
- One was a classic rubber one, kind of like a Kong.
- Another was a tougher, nylon-type bone with little holes.
- And I even tried a fabric one that looked like a squirrel – I figured that would be fun!
My "Stuffing" Process
I grabbed some of Max's regular kibble and some small training treats. My plan was simple: stuff the toys and see what happened.
For the rubber toy, I smeared a little peanut butter around the inside (Max LOVES peanut butter), then dropped in some kibble and treats. I even froze it for a couple of hours to make it last longer. With the nylon bone, I just wedged some treats into the holes. It was a little trickier, but I managed. The fabric squirrel? That was easy – just tossed some treats inside and closed it up.
The Results!
The rubber toy was a HUGE hit. Max spent a good hour working on that thing, especially once it started to thaw. The frozen peanut butter really extended the playtime!
The nylon bone was okay. He chewed on it for a while, but he got the treats out pretty quickly. It didn't keep him occupied for nearly as long. The fabric squirrel... well, let's just say it didn't last very long. Max ripped it open in about 10 minutes and scattered treats everywhere. I mean that's what dogs love.
So, my conclusion? Stuffable toys are definitely worth it, especially the tough rubber ones. They're great for keeping your dog entertained and mentally stimulated, which is a win-win. I'm gonna keep experimenting with different fillings and freezing times to see what works best. But, I've definitely learned to avoid the fabric ones for a heavy chewer like Max! Although it's funny and lovely, It's also can make me crazy!
