Purina DM for Dogs Reviews: Is It Right for Your Pet?

Okay, folks, let's dive into my little experiment with Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets DM Dietetic Management for my furry friend.

Purina DM for Dogs Reviews: Is It Right for Your Pet?

So, my dog, Buster, he's been a bit, shall we say, plump lately. The vet suggested we might need to look at his diet, and one of the things that popped up was Purina DM. I'd heard good things, and honestly, I was getting a little worried about Buster's weight, so I decided to give it a shot.

Getting Started

First things first, I didn't just switch his food cold turkey. That's a recipe for disaster (and a messy cleanup, if you catch my drift). I started by mixing a little bit of the Purina DM with his old food. Just a small amount at first, maybe like a quarter of his meal.

  • Day 1-3: 25% Purina DM, 75% old food. Buster didn't even seem to notice a difference, which was a good start.
  • Day 4-6: Upped it to 50/50. He still gobbled it down without any complaints.
  • Day 7-9: Went to 75% Purina DM, 25% old food. He was still fine. I inspected his stool. It was normal.
  • Day 10 onwards: Fully transitioned to Purina DM.

The food itself, it looks like, it is dry kibble. Buster doesn't seem to mind the taste, which is half the battle, right?

My observations

It's been a couple of weeks, the transition period is very smooth.

Here are the details:

  • First,Buster has actually been eating all of it.
  • Second, His energy levels seem... pretty normal. Maybe even a bit better, but it's hard to say for sure. He's always been a bit of a couch potato.
  • The biggest thing, though, is his poop. I know, I know, not the most glamorous topic, but it's important! It's been... well, better. More formed, less... messy. I'm taking that as a good sign.

I'm cautiously optimistic. It's still early days, but I'm hoping this food helps him slim down a bit and just be healthier overall. I'll keep an eye on him and his weight, and of course, I'll be chatting with the vet regularly to make sure we're on the right track.

I will keep updating the results!
