Understanding Dog Behavior: Why Does My Dog Push His Toys Against Me
Okay, so the other day I was sitting on the couch, scrolling through my phone, and my dog, Buster, comes trotting over with his favorite squeaky hedgehog. But instead of just dropping it at my feet like he usually does, he starts pushing it right up against my leg. Like, really shoving it in there.

At first, I was like, "Okay, dude, I see it, you want to play." I tossed the hedgehog, he brought it back, and again with the pushing. It wasn't a gentle nudge, either. He was really putting his weight into it.
My Experiment Begins
-
First attempt:
Ignore Him.I thought maybe if I didn't react, he'd stop. Nope. He just kept pushing that hedgehog into my leg like he was trying to merge it with my jeans.
-
Second attempt:
Give him other toys. I tried with different ones. Same Thing.
-
Third attempt: Change locations. I got up and I moved to the armchair. You guessed it – he followed me and continued his hedgehog-pushing mission,he just kept shoving his toy into my leg.
So, after all these "experiments," I came away with a couple of very amateur, definitely-not-scientific conclusions.
Maybe, just maybe, Buster's not just trying to play. He might be trying to share his prized possession with me, his pack leader. Or,you know, he could just be a weirdo who likes pushing toys into people's legs. Dogs are strange, but that's why we love them, right?
