Best Spiked Vest for Dogs: Keep Coyotes Away, Simply!
Okay, so I saw these spiked vests for dogs online, and I thought, "My little chihuahua, Rico, needs this!" He's a tough guy, but, you know, squirrels. So I decided to make one myself.

Getting Started
First, I needed a vest. I found an old denim jacket of mine – perfect! – and cut off the sleeves. It was a little big, so I took it in at the sides. Rico looked pretty ridiculous trying it on, but we got there.
The Spikes
- I went to the craft store and looked for spikes. They had some cool metal studs, but I was worried they might be too heavy or sharp.
- Then I found these plastic pyramid studs – much better! They looked tough but wouldn't hurt Rico.
- I bought a whole bunch of them, along with some strong fabric glue.
Putting It Together
This was the fun part. I laid the vest out flat and started gluing the studs on. I went for a kind of random pattern, making sure to cover the back and shoulders really well. It took a while, and my fingers got pretty sticky, but it was starting to look awesome!
The Finished Product
After the glue dried, I had Rico try it on. He looked like a tiny, four-legged biker! He strutted around the yard, and even the squirrels seemed impressed. I'm pretty sure he feels way more confident now, and I feel better knowing he's got a little extra protection. Plus, it's just plain cool.
It is so funny and I love it!
