DIY Fleece Dog Toys: Easy No-Sew Tutorials for Pup!
Okay, here's my blog post about making DIY fleece dog toys:

So, I've got this super energetic pup, and store-bought toys just don't last. They're either shredded in minutes or, worse, he gets bored of them quickly. I needed something tough, cheap, and engaging. That's when I stumbled upon the magic of DIY fleece dog toys! I started this little project and you are not gonna believe that I just used old fleece blankets.
Getting Started
First, I gathered my materials. I dug out an old fleece blanket I wasn't using anymore – the brighter the color, the better, I figured. I Also grabbed a pair of scissors. That's it! Seriously, that's all you need to start.
Making the Strips
Next, I started cutting the blanket into strips. I aimed for strips about 1-2 inches wide and around 12-18 inches long. They didn't need to be perfect – my dog definitely wouldn't care if they were a little uneven. I just went at it, cutting away until I had a nice big pile of fleece strips.
The Braiding/Knotting Begins
This is where the fun began. I took three strips and tied them together in a knot at one end. Then, I just started braiding them, just like braiding hair. Nice and tight, so it wouldn't unravel easily. Once I reached the end, I tied another knot to secure it. Done! A simple, sturdy braided toy.
I also experimented with different knots. I tried a simple square knot – four strips, knot, repeat. It created a thicker, chunkier toy, which my dog seemed to love even more.
- I made a few of each, just to see what he preferred.
- I noticed that the braided ones were great for tug-of-war.
- The square knot ones were perfect for chewing.
The Finished Product (and Happy Dog!)
I ended up with a whole bunch of colorful, durable dog toys, all from one old blanket! My dog went absolutely crazy for them. He chased them, chewed them, tugged on them – pure doggy bliss. And I felt pretty good too, knowing I'd repurposed something old and saved some money in the process. It’s a total win-win!
I’ll totally do this again, and recommend it to other dog lovers, too!
