Cool Male Dog Names: Georgia Southern University Fans.
Okay, so I wanted to come up with a cool, unique name for my new puppy. Being a huge Georgia Southern University fan, I thought, why not draw some inspiration from the school? I mean, we've got a pretty awesome mascot and a ton of history, so there had to be some good names in there, right?
Brainstorming Session
First, I grabbed a pen and paper and started listing out everything I could think of related to Georgia Southern.
- Gus: Of course, our eagle mascot, Gus, was the first thing that came to mind. It's a solid, classic name.
- Eagle: I mean, it's pretty straightforward, and kinda majestic, right?
- Freedom:This related our "Freedom's Landing" dining hall.
- Erk: After the famous coach Erk * is a pretty human name though...
- Statesboro: I considered using our lovely city location, but it's a mouthful for a dog.
Narrowing It Down
I stared at my list for a while. Some names just didn't feel right for a puppy. "Statesboro," for example, was way too long. My dog would be halfway across the yard before I finished yelling his name!
I crossed off a few, then I thought about the kind of dog I was getting. A big, strong Golden Retriever. So, I wanted something that sounded strong, but also friendly.
The Final Decision
After much thinking, I decided to combine my love for GSU and consideration of different names! It just has a good ring to it, and it's easy to shout across the park. Plus, every time I call his name, I'll be reminded of my favorite university.
