Dog Names Starting with AJ: Top Choices,Cute Names 2024

Okay, here's my attempt at writing a blog post like that, based on the title "dog names that start with aj":

So, I've been thinking a lot about getting a dog. Like, really, really thinking about it. And the first major hurdle, even before picking a breed? The name! I don't know why, but I got stuck on names starting with "AJ." Don't ask me where that came from. It just…happened.

I started by, you know, just yelling out sounds. "AJ… uh… Ayjay? No. Arjay? Ugh." My roommate probably thought I was losing it. I paced around the living room, muttering to myself, trying to force something to sound…right.

My Brainstorming Process (Which Was Mostly a Mess)

• The Google Method: I went to the all-knowing Google, and just looked up "boy dog names" and "girl dog names." Lots of stuff, but most was not what I needed.
• The "Sound It Out" Method: As I mentioned before, I paced and yelled. Highly recommend not doing this if you live in an apartment building.
• My whiteboard: I have this small whiteboard for jotting down ideas. I grabbed that, and start to write.

Then I tried combining "A" sounds with "J" words. This is where things got interesting (and also more ridiculous). I started with simple stuff:

• AJ + Ace:"A.J. Ace?" Sounded more like I was announcing a poker hand.
• AJ + Jet: "A.J. Jet?" This was better, but felt like a name for a cartoon airplane.

I then wrote down some random "A" words, and added random "J" words in front of these "A" words:

• "Ajax": I get it!
• "Ajay": I kind of like it!

It's a work in progress. The dog-naming journey, it seems, is a marathon, not a sprint. But hey, at least I’ve made a tiny amount of progress, I feel a little better now.
