Okay, so my dog, Max, he's a super chewer. Like, destroys-everything-in-his-path kind of chewer. I've tried everything – tough rubber toys, rope toys, even those "indestructible" ones. Nothing lasts. Then I saw this "laptop" toy for dogs online, and I figured, why not? It looked pretty sturdy, and honestly, the idea of Max "working from home" was just too funny to pass up.
So, I ordered it. It arrived a few days later, and the first thing I noticed was the material. It's this really thick, almost felt-like fabric, but super dense. Not like the flimsy plush toys that Max rips to shreds in five minutes. It's shaped like a little laptop, with a "screen" and a "keyboard" – all made of the same tough material.
Setting it Up (For Destruction!)
There wasn't much "setting up" to do, obviously. It's a dog toy! But I did stuff some treats inside. The "keyboard" part has these little crevices, and the "screen" folds down and has a pocket underneath. Perfect for hiding kibble and those little peanut butter cookies he loves.
I presented the laptop to Max, and he was immediately interested. He sniffed it all over, then started pawing at the keyboard, trying to get at the treats I'd hidden. I was holding my breath, honestly. So many toys, so many disappointments.
- First hour: He's obsessed! He's flipping it over, chewing on the corners, digging at the keyboard. The treats are keeping him engaged, but he's also just enjoying gnawing on the thing itself.
- End of day one: Still holding up! There are a few teeth marks, but no rips, no tears, no stuffing everywhere. This is a major victory.
- One week later: Okay, it's starting to show some wear. One of the corners is a bit frayed, and he's managed to make a small dent in the "screen." But it's still intact. Unbelievable!
- One month later: This is the best dog toy I've ever purchased. He has managed to tear at it in some * this is his favorite toy, he has been engaged with it everyday.
Seriously, if you have a power chewer, you NEED to try this. It's not completely indestructible, nothing is. It's kept Max entertained, and it's saved my furniture (and my sanity!). I'm so surprised at how much use my dog has gotten out of this toy.
