Clavamox Liquid for Dogs Dosage by Weight: Easy Guide!
Okay, here's my experience figuring out the dosage of Clavamox liquid for my dog:

So, my dog, Buster, got this nasty ear infection. The vet prescribed Clavamox, the liquid kind. I'm always a little nervous about giving my pets the right amount of medicine, you know? Too little, and it won't work; too much, and, well, that's scary.
First, I grabbed the bottle and the little dropper thing that came with it. I also made sure I had Buster's most recent weight from the vet visit – that's super important. He's a chunky boy, about 60 pounds.
Figuring Out the Dosage
The vet told me the general dosage, but seeing everything on paper is what made it click for me, I had to double-check. It's generally something like 6.25mg per pound of body weight, twice a day, so my dog would need more than my friend's dog, which is what made me so nervous!
- I multiplied Buster's weight (60 pounds) by the dosage (6.25mg/pound).
- That gave me 375mg per dose (60 x 6.25 = 375).
- Then I read the bottle carefully. I had to find out how many milligrams of Clavamox were in each milliliter (mL) of the liquid. The concentration can vary, so this is crucial! Mine said 62.5mg per mL.
Then I made an other calculation, 375mg per dose / 62.5mg per mL= *, buster need 6mL per dose.
I used the dropper to carefully measure out the right amount. It was a bit messy at first, Buster's not the biggest fan of medicine, but we got it done. I made sure to give it to him with food, like the vet suggested, to help his tummy.
I kept a close eye on him for any weird reactions, just in case. Thankfully, he was fine, and his ear started clearing up after a few days. It's always a relief when they start feeling better!
It was a bit of a process, but hey, that's pet ownership for you! It's all worth it to see them happy and healthy.
